WHICH QUICK FLICK SIZE IS RIGHT FOR ME?

The Quick Flick was developed to work for all eye types and sizes. Please refer to our size chart here.

If you are still unsure of which Quick Flick size to purchase, simply get in touch at hello@thequickflick.com.au with a photograph of a desired winged eyeliner look and we will recommend an appropriate size.

HOW IS QUICK LASH DIFFERENT TO REGULAR LASH GLUES?

Quick Lash utilises an ingredient called Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer which functions as a film forming agent to create what is known as PSA, or a pressure sensitive adhesive. There are many categories of adhesives (such as silicon, glue, cement etc) and whilst glue is one of them, it is not a pressure sensitive adhesive. Pressure Sensitive Adhesives are a type of non-reactive adhesives which form a bond when light pressure is applied with a surface. This is the bond that occurs when a false lash is applied to the formula of Quick Lash. PSA’s exhibit viscoelastic (viscous and elastic) properties and are removable, which is what allows Quick Lash to bere-stickable, so if you apply your lash incorrectly, you can remove it and reapply (without needing to add more adhesive).

Other categories of adhesives require a solvent, moisture, oxygen, radiation/UV or heat to cause a chemical reaction that activates the adhesive to form a permanent bond. It is within this category that glues (and lash glue) fall as their composition are structurally different to that of PSA as they are not based on an elastomer compound like pressure sensitive adhesives are.

It is for these reasons we have not labelled Quick Lash as a glue, but rather as a Lash adhesive.

WILL QUICK LASH MAKE MY LIDS STICKY OR RUIN MY EYESHADOW?

Quick Lash only needs to be applied as thick as your lash band and will not spread or run onto your eyelid or eyeshadow. You can also apply Quick Lash directly to your lash band if you’d prefer.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY QUICK LASH FALSE LASHES?

For effective cleaning of your Quick Lash False Lashes we recommend the following steps:

1. Start with cotton swabs, paper towels, and either rubbing alcohol or oil-free eye makeup remover. We recommend our Flick Off! Makeup Remover.

2. Place the false lashes on a paper towel and douse the end of your cotton swab in alcohol or eye makeup remover, squeezing off any excess product.

3. Use the cotton swab to gently rub away eye makeup or Quick Lash residue from your lashes, making sure to pay extra attention to the lash bands.

4. Finish the makeup removal process by using another cotton swab dipped in warm water to clean off any remaining mascara.

5. Never squeeze your false lashes dry after cleaning them! Let them air dry on a paper towel. Once your lashes are dry, we recommend storing them in their original box.

HOW DO I MEASURE LASHES FOR MY EYE?
To measure the size of your lashes, place the tapered end of the false lash against your lash line where your natural lashes begin to thicken in order for them to blend together. Once you have that end set, run the false lash along your lash line and measure the false eyelashes right at the edge of your eye. Any wider and they will cause your eyes to look drooped and the falsies to appear more prominent.

Once you have that spot marked, snip the lashes on the strip, taking care to avoid cutting any of the lashes themselves. After they’ve been cut, your false lashes are sized and ready to go!

A handy tip we also recommend, is to size your lashes for each eye individually, instead of measuring one and then cutting the other to match.

Sometimes your eyelashes grow differently on each eye and you don’t want to ruin an eyelash.

ARE ALL INGREDIENTS VEGAN AND CRUELTY FREE?

The Quick Flick is cruelty free and PETA approved. All our products (except our Quick Screen SPF50+ lip balm) are vegan, with our lip balm being vegetarian. We are also proud to be palm oil free brand too.

I’VE HAD AN ALLERGIC REACTION, WHAT DO I DO NOW?

The ingredients of all Quick Flick products are listed on the product page to help you identify any sensitivities with our ingredients. Please note that different skin types and skin conditions may react differently to our ingredients. In the unlikely event you react to one of our products that you have purchased from us within the past 30 days, please send an email with a photo and description of the reaction to our customer services team. To process an allergy return, the product must be less than 20% used, and a photo of the reaction must be provided in order for the return to be processed. An allergy/irritation return cannot be processed without this information and if this cannot be provided we will be unable to accept the return. We are unable to cover postage costs in the event of an allergic reaction.

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO REMOVE YOUR PRODUCTS?

For easy removal of any of our products, we suggest using our Flick Off! Makeup Remover. Flick Off! is optimised for targeted application on eyes, and designed to remove even the most long wearing of makeup (including The Quick Flick of course!). Flick Off is formulated with refreshing plant extracts to condition and soothe, leaving skin feeling soft and fresh after use. It is Peta approved vegan and cruelty free, non toxic and safe for lash extensions too!

WHAT DOES THE SCIENCE SAY ABOUT BLUE LIGHT?
Blue Light AKA High Energy Visible (HEV) light is short wavelengths (around 390-500mm). It is light primarily emitted by the sun, but low levels can be emitted from your daily smart devices like phones, tablets and computer screens, LEDs and fluorescent lighting (Coats et al 2020).

Studies suggest that blue light causes oxidative damage (loss/damage of antioxidants which forms free radicals in the epidermis) which causes changes to melanin production resulting in immediate and persistent skin darkening (Coats et al 2020).

Some studies have shown that because Blue Light is very similar to UVA, exposure to blue light can cause increased pigmentation on the skin (Kleinpenning et al 2009) (Edstrom, Porwit, Ros 2001).

It is also suggested that blue light can potentially affect skins elastin and collagen production by degrading it, whilst also blocking it (Coats et all 2020) (Caley, Martins & O’Toole 2012).

There are two primary solutions we recommend for blue light protection.

A) SPF/Suncare. As most blue light (HEV) is emitted by the sun, wearing daily SPF and ensuring reapplication is key. This method also protects you from UVA and UVB rays.

B) Topical skincare that is high in antioxidants. As blue light primarily creates formation of free radicals the best way to combat is wearing antioxidants on the skin.

We would also like to acknowledge that this topic is new and emerging and is still being researched and developed by industry professionals. We are always keeping our eye out for new journals, studies and information around blue light exposure and its impact on skin.

HOW DOES QUICK SCREEN OFFER DEFENCE AGAINST BLUE LIGHT?
Blue light poses potential skin harm via free radical generation and has been shown in studies to induce oxidative stress in live skin. This can contribute to skin ageing, like exposure to UVA. Whilst the skin naturally contains antioxidants, these are used up when the skin is exposed to excess free radicals (think UV light, visible blue light and other environmental aggressors such as pollution). Thus, applying topical antioxidants can boost our skin’s defence against oxidative environmental damage. Quick Screen contains antioxidant-rich ingredients to help combat this free radical damage, including Raspberry Seed Extract and Israeli Tomato Extract.
Are you products safe to use during pregnancy?
Yes they are, though we always recommend speaking to your doctor or health practitioner if you have further concerns around a particular ingredient.
Are your products fragrance free?
All our products except our Quick Screen Set Finishing Spray are fragrance free. Quick Screen Set is fragranced, though is synthetic fragrance-free.
Does Quick Screen contain silicone and is it comedogenic?
Our Quick Screen collection is silicone-free and utilises an ingredient called Cetiol SN- cetearyl isononanoate which provides the same effect as silicone in makeup primers. Because of this our collection is also non-comedogenic.
Is Quick Screen TGA listed?
Both Quick Screen Prep and Set are TGA listed. Our AUST L numbers are as follows: Quick Screen Prep: AUST L:369936 Quick Screen Set: AUST L: 369491 You can also find these numbers at the front of each bottle.
How much Quick Screen should I be applying?
You should apply approximately ¼ - ½ a teaspoon of sunscreen to your face first thing in the morning. We recommend an additional ¼ teaspoon for your neck and ears. Ensure you apply your sunscreen approximately 20-30 minutes before you have any sun exposure and ensure you reapply every 2 hours. Sunscreen should not be your only defence from UVA and UVB rays, so always remember to wear a hat, seek out a shady spot and wear sunglasses when spending time directly outside in the sun.
Is Quick Screen a physical or chemical sunscreen?
Our Quick Screen collection utilises Chemical/Organic Filters as they are the most stabilised form of sunscreen and work especially well on all skin tones as they don’t leave a white cast. We wanted to create a collection that was inclusive of all skin tones, and avoids that ashy, white cast that many physical sunscreens can leave on the skin as well as works amazingly with all skin types and beauty routines. Chemical SPF also layers beautifully under foundation and tinted moisturisers of all types (powder, cream, liquid) as well as suits all skin types including acne prone skins.
Are sunscreens cancer causing?
In Australia, sunscreens are regulated by the TGA and in order to get them listed on ARTG all the ingredients must be disclosed. The ingredients on the TGA register (ARTG) are all assessed for safety so if these were carcinogenic, they would not be allowed in listed products and the product could not be added to the register.
Is Quick Screen Sunscreen Reef Safe?
None of the ingredients utilised in our sunscreen formulas are known to cause damage to reef life. Additionally, our formulas do not contain Oxybenzone or Octinoxate, two active ingredients that have developed a reputation in regard to reef damage and which Hawaii currently regulates. Something to keep in mind with reef safe claims is that this term is not defined or regulated by authorities. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the cause of coral decline is due to global climate change and ocean acidification from increased global Co2. There is no sound data that shows the sunscreen actives utilised in our formulas is a significant cause of coral decline. Reef safe claims are based on two poorly designed studies that do not reflect the true natural complexity and ecosystem of a coral reef. These flawed studies have largely been used as marketing tactics by brands and media to spread misinformation about certain sunscreen ingredients being detrimental to reef life. If you see the term "Reef Friendly" utilised across our Quick Screen range, this means that our products have been formulated in compliance with Hawaii’s regulations and is free of Oxybenzone and Octinoxate. We will continue to update our product formulations based on advice from domestic and international authorities.

COVID-19

WHAT ARE THE IMPACTS?

We are doing everything possible to keep our warehouse open and fulfilling our customer’s orders during the Coronavirus pandemic.

In order to remain open and to ensure the wellbeing of our warehouse staff we’ve had to make some changes which have unfortunately affected our dispatch times. We’ve enforced increased safety measures, limited staff per areas and social distancing rules. Other factors contributing to delays include fewer collections from postal providers, limited domestic and international flights and increased volumes as more people are now shopping online.

Our warehouse staff are continuing to work tirelessly under these difficult circumstances and are doing all they can to ensure our orders are fulfilled as fast as possible. We thank everyone for their patience during this time and appreciate the ongoing support.
